the seasons of the Spirit roll across The Time of Man
(when bridges he will build are tunes
his grandsons' children Play)
defining them in bursts or whispers suited to the songs
his fathers sang and breasts his Mother offered
or withheld when he was new
(and not in cadence with his own children
whose dreams are later made)
before the Horns of Summer call him round
to ponder papas' strengths while Mommy's Heart is true.
